Helmuth von Moltke

He was awarded the Pour le Mérite for outstanding leadership and distinguished military planning and succesful operations during the campaigns in Belgium and northern France. General von Moltke was notified of the award of the Pour le Mérite Order by a personal telegram from Emperor Wilhelm II. NOTE: General Helmuth von Moltke, known as the "younger Moltke," was a nephew of the General Field Marshal Count Hellmuth Karl von Moltke.
