From time to time portraits and photos of people wearing what appears to be the Pour le Mérite award come across our path and these people are not listed in our reference books. So what happened? Was the award revoked? Was the award not logged into the records? Was the artist just being fanciful when doing the portrait? We'd like to know who these people are and if there is something else to back up their ownership of the award besides an image that may be in error.
